Affinity Quartet explores the rich diversity of string quartet repertoire to bring classical music to wider audiences. Described by Classic Melbourne as ‘one of the most exciting young ensembles to make their mark’, the quartet has given Australian premieres of works by Janácek, Haas, Britten and Panufnik, and world premieres by Jack Symonds and Matt Laing. In 2016 an International Tour included Prussia Cove International Musicians Seminar, Southbank Centre’s Yehudi Menuhin Festival and concerts in Berlin with Brett Dean. In 2020 a second international tour places Affinity Quartet at the centre of excellence in the field of classical string quartets in Europe and the UK. The 5 week tour includes Residency at the Amsterdam String Quartet Biennale; mentorships with two leading string quartet Professors at Lübeck Hochschule für Musik and the Mozarteum Salzburg; and concert programs in Milan, Venice, Salzburg and London.
