Pinchas Zukerman, Amanda Forsyth and Angela Cheng perform Beethoven’s mesmerising chamber music for violin, cello and piano in an evening presented by John Suchet.

The warm and enveloping harmonies of the ‘Archduke’ Trio, weaved with rapturously poetic writing for each instrument, is paired with the ‘Ghost’ Trio, in which the slow movement features a notably deliberate and measured tempo. Its eerie pace creates a sense of foreboding and uncertainty before normality and liveliness are restored in the buoyant final movement.
