For their next performance the Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra invites you to join them for a special animal-themed family concert, filled with fun, excitement and great music! Children are welcome at this special performance where they can discover the magic of seeing and hearing a full orchestra.

The programme will include music from Saint-Saens’s Carnival of the Animals and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats. Film music will also feature with Mancini’s The Pink Panther and Mike Batt’s ‘Bright Eyes’ from the original Watership Down. There will be the chance to join Strauss for his Cuckoo Polka or to take flight with his Overture to Die Fledermaus. And that’s not mention an encounter with Bugs Bunny, or a chorus or two of Flanders and Swann’s ‘Hippopotamus Song’. Audience participation will be required both for sing-alongs and also a story section.

Currently proceeding through its 34th Season the Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra is now well established in the local area with over 60 registered members, having performed an incredibly wide and varied repertoire of works over the years. In addition to countless concerts at local venues throughout Hillingdon, the group has also performed at some of London’s most prestigious venues including the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Southwark Cathedral. In July 2011 the group celebrated 25 years of music making at the Cadogan Hall in Sloane Square.

Animal Magic promises fun for all the family including parents and grandparents! The concert will be led by Lucy Cumming and conducted by the founder of the Orchestra, Peter J Williams. For further details see: Hillingdon Theatres website
