A concert of thrilling contrasts from this 5-piece brass ensemble. Starting off with a nod to Music at Oxford's 'Natural World' theme is Handel’s stately, elegant and dramatic Water Music. Bernstein’s signature style suits brass instruments wonderfully – his Dance Suite is cheeky, spiky and full of invention. Janácek’s On an Overgrown Path is, by contrast, haunting and wistful, with a dark and forceful final movement. Your evening finishes with a strong dose of atmospheric energy, in the shape of Horowitz’s Dance Hall Suite.
