Sir Roger Norrington, fêted for his historically informed performances of Beethoven, was the widely acclaimed Chief Conductor with the Stuttgart Radio Orchestra for 13 years. He continues to shape the music world with his inquisitive, provocative approach and this evening he joins the orchestra as Conductor Emeritus.

Swiss pianist Francesco Piemontesi has been widely praised for his ‘playful, assertive, intelligent music making, with bone-china clarity’ (The Times). He performs Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto which is among the first of Beethoven’s mature masterworks.

Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 conducted by Sir Roger Norrington promises to be an outstanding highlight of this year’s concert series.
