Ashtead Choral Society presents a Night at the Opera for your pleasure and enjoyment.

Under the baton of its Musical Director, James Henshaw, the Chorus Master of the English National Opera, Ashtead Choral Society together with soloists Alberto Sousa and Mark Nathan, accompanied by The Outcry Ensemble, will present both well known grand choruses such as the Toreador's Chorus from Bizet's Carmen, The Bridal Chorus from Wagner's Lohengrin and the Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Verdi's Nabucco, to more virtuoso pieces such as the famed Pearl Fishers' duet by Bizet, not forgetting the simply magnificent such as The Triumphal March from Verdi's Audi.

The concert is taking place in the atmospheric main auditorium of the Epsom Playhouse, a venue itself for opera productions, this gives a great local concert, under the guidence of an expert conductor, for opera and indeed all music lovers.

Ashtead Choral Society was founded just after the Second World War and continues to flourish, firmly rooted in Ashtead in Surrey and regularly performing a wide variety of music from opera to jazz and everything inbetween. We welcome adults of all ages to come and enjoy singing.
