Brahms's Requiem | Choir of St Mary's, Wimbledon

The Brandenburg Choral Festival of London welcomes back the Choir of St Mary’s Wimbledon for this performance of Brahms’s dramatic German Requiem. Iain Farrington’s skilful arrangement of the accompaniment for chamber ensemble, which features Andrew Lenon on the piano alongside musicians of the Brandenburg Sinfonia, captures much of the colour of this remarkable work. Also in the programme, Finzi’s substantial anthem Lo, the full final sacrifice, with its stunning 8-part Amen conclusion.
