Enjoy a selection of Bach’s most famous set of concertos performed by the internationally acclaimed London Concertante, in the magnificent candlelit setting of St Martin-in-the-Fields.

Founded in 1991, the ensemble continues to travel up and down Britain, and beyond with tours throughout Europe and the USA. Recognised for their irresistible musical interpretations and enchanting performance style, it is no surprise that they have continued to find such far reaching support for over 25 years. Reaching critical acclaim on their numerous recordings, London Concertante have found themselves labelled one of the finest chamber ensembles in Europe.

Renowned for their musical genius, enjoy three out of six of JS Bach’s remarkable Brandenburg Concertos. Whilst the Fifth is famous for its dazzling array of harpsichord virtuosity and flair, the Sixth is arguably the most unique of all the concertos, with its original orchestration lacking the violin entirely. Brandenburg Concerto No 6 features some of the Baroque Maestro’s characteristically exuberant and intricate melodic interplay; the violas begin almost in unison over a pressing accompaniment before the melody develops and gracefully expands hinting at the melancholic theme that is to follow in the sublime second movement. The final movement of Brandenburg Concerto No 3 opens with a spectacularly ecstatic rush of energy that brings the work to a joyous and euphoric close. The selection of Brandenburg Concertos are excellently partnered by Mozart's delightful Flute Quartet, and Vivaldi's effervescent Four Seasons in what is set to be a magical exploration of the Baroque masterpieces.

If you don’t consider yourself ‘in the know’ about Mozart, Beethoven, or Bach, fear not, this is the orchestra for you. The London Concertante boasts a remarkable audience record in which an impressive 50% of spectators are first time classical concert goers! The London Concertante has its audience laughing at jokes, gasping at virtuosity, moved by gorgeous string playing, and leaving with a smile on their faces.
