The Octandre Ensemble presents the first of its ‘Way out East’ series of composer portrait concerts in the sumptuous setting of The Coronet, Notting Hill, focussing on chamber music by Nicola LeFanu. The concert will also feature the Ligeti Quartet and soprano Sarah Dacey. LeFanu has chosen music by David Lumsdaine and Elizabeth Maconchy to set her own works in context. She will appear in person to introduce her choices.

'The same day dawns', featuring soprano Sarah Dacey, sets vivid fragments from oriental poems, while Deva casts solo cello as goddess, charting a metaphorical journey through a landscape of sensuous instrumental music. The acclaimed Ligeti Quartet will also play Lefanu’s second string quartet, and music by her mother, Elizabeth Maconchy.
