One hundred years after the devastating events of the First World War, actor Christopher Kent and pianist Gamal Khamis create a moving and thought-provoking narrative, which follows the progression from pre-war innocence and nostalgia, through patriotism, and finally to the horrors of war. Their performance includes poetry and readings from diaries and personal histories of the time. The spoken words are alternated with piano music by composers of the time, such as Elgar, Frank Bridge and Ivor Gurney.
