This year’s festival ensemble-in-residence, the young and dynamic baroque group, Figo, explores the impact of the Italian musical export that influenced the style of instrumental music in England in the early 18th century. Plotting the journey from Purcell to Boyce, this recital is bursting with Anglo-Italian flare and colour, and will reveal the wonders of some undeservedly little-known composers who had such a huge hand in shaping the development of music in this country.
