Bocheng was born in Lanzhou, China. Currently studying piano with Professor Christopher Elton for his Bachelor's degree (four years) at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He is very honoured and grateful to receive full scholarship under Violet Irene Strutton Award which is supporting his study. Bocheng has performed in prestigious venues such as the Fazioli Hall in Sacile, Italy, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and at London's Kings Place, Wigmore Hall, St.Martin-in-the-fields, Fairfield Hall, Watford Colosseum and touring in North England both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. He also participated in many masterclass with Professor John O'Conner, Arie Vardi, Andrzej Jansinki, Pascal Roge, Pascal Devoyon, Dmitry Alexeev and Erik T Tawaststjerna.
Bocheng has also performed with many orchestras such as Dulwich Symphony, London Mozart Players and Purcell Symphony. Conductors include Leigh O'Hara, Dominic Peckham and Robin O'Niel. His competition success include Finalist at the Ettlingen International Piano Competition, Third prize at the ‘Young Pianist of the North' International Piano Competition, Second Prize at the Junior Shanghai International Piano Competition and Liszt International Society Piano Competition, First prize winner at the 2nd Hong Kong Piano Open Tournament and the Croydon Concerto Competition. In 2016, He has been invited to play for a celebratory concert in honour of HM The Queen Elizabeth II 's 90th birthday and honoured to meet the Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.
