Born in 1990, Japanese pianist Sayaka Aoki started playing piano at the age of 6. She is currently studying with Deniz Gelenbe at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Previously, she completed her bachelor and master degrees at Tokyo College of Music under the tutelage of Emiko Harimoto, Sanae Mori and Eisuke Tsuchida, gaining the highest score for her master thesis: 'Variation technique in 'Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Handel' of Johannes Brahms Op 24'. She was one of a few to be selected to perform in a concert at The 100 Year Anniversary Hall.

Since 2014, she has been collaborating with members of Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, most notably with the Gaede Quartet lead by Daniel Gaede, former concertmaster. This has led to yearly concert series with other members such as Stephan Hoever (violin), Mathias Schessl (viola), Gustav Rivinius (cello) and Sebastian Gaede (cello).

A Gold prize winner at Aichi Piano Competition, Japan (2005/2006), she was also a finalist of the Japan Classical Music competition (2006/2007) and the Japan Players' competition (2011). Winner of several young artist awards, she participated in winner’s concerts across Japan including the Fresh Talent Concerts of Tokyo and Okinawa. Sayaka was a finalist for the Trinity Laban Soloist’s Competition in 2018.
