An adventurous soloist, Avi Avital is one of today's most exciting musicians. Accomplished in a range of genres and a regular commissioner of new works for the mandolin, Avital has quickly gained global recognition as a true pioneer for the instrument. Performing Vivaldi concertos in both Malvern and Oxford, Avital and the Oxford Philharmonic will evoke the dynamic virtuosity of the great Venetian baroque master. Audiences in Oxford can also discover the music of Avital's compatriot, Avner Dorman. Avital's recording of Dorman's Mandolin Concerto made him the first mandolin player to receive a Grammy nomination in the category 'Best Instrumental Soloist' in 2010.
