On Saturday 28th July Ashford Invicta Singers will be presenting a joint concert with the Sängerkreis Halle/Westfalen e.V. (Circle of singers) from Westphalia in the North Rhine District of Germany.

The German choir consists of singers drawn from various towns in the region. They combine to form three distinct choirs; the mixed choir, a men’s choir and a female choir. They love to tour and sing songs from musicals, international folklore, German folk songs, religious choral music and much more.

The concert will be held in Ashford St Mary’s Parish Church beginning at 7.30pm and will be attended by the Mayor of Ashford, Councillor Jessamy Blanford, accompanied by her colleague Councillor Mike Bennett. Damian Green, MP for Ashford, will also be present at this special concert.

The two choirs will be singing favourite pieces from their repertoires with refreshments available during the interval.

All proceeds from the concert will be donated to Pilgrims Hospices.
