  1. Concerto Grosso No 9 in D, from 'L'Estro Armonico' Op 3 RV230 - Antonio Vivaldi
  2. Fratres, version for mixed ensemble - Arvo Pärt
  3. Concerto for 2 violins in D minor BWV 1043 - Johann Sebastian Bach
  4. Le quattro stagioni, 'The Four Seasons' Op 8 - Antonio Vivaldi

Revolving around the production of the most thrilling ambience, this concert features two fabulous concertos. The central movement of the Bach contains some of the most sublime music ever written. Additionally, Arvo Pärt’s atmospheric set of variations, Fratres, based on a six-bar theme, was written for three parts – the instrumentation not originally specified: although we will hear it in the composer’s 1992 ‘authorized version’ for violin (played by Tasmin), strings and percussion. And we end with Vivaldi’s timeless evocation of the passing year – four three-movement violin concertos transporting us from the burgeoning warmth of spring to the “icy snow [and] harsh breath” of winter.
