The National Philharmonic of Russia was founded in 2003, uniting top orchestral musicians and gifted youth. Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Vladimir Spivakov has assembled some of Russia’s instrumental elite into an ensemble combining technical virtuosity with a rare capacity to become immersed in the music and draw the audience into that experience.

Russian-born violist, Konstantin Boyarsky, currently principal violist at Covent Garden, is considered one of the best young composers in the UK today. The orchestra performs his Concerto for cello, soprano and symphony orchestra, written in 2015.

Part of the Zurich International Orchestra Series 2018-19 at Cadogan Hall.
