A concert on an epic scale with no fewer than five pieces written in 40 parts.

The programme includes Thomas Tallis’s soaring, uplifting, truly monumental Spem in alium and two pieces written for Ex Cathedra by Gabriel Jackson (2005) and Alec Roth (2010). Roth’s breathtaking Earthrise is inspired by the famous photograph of the same name, taken 50 years ago by the Apollo 8 crew.

We came all this way to explore the moon and the most important thing is that we discovered the Earth” (Bill Anders, Apollo 8 astronaut)
