  3. Suite from 'L'invitation au chateau' - Francis Poulenc
  4. L'histoire du soldat, 'The Soldier's Tale', arranged for clarinet, violin and piano - Igor Stravinsky
  5. 5 Pieces - Dmitry Shostakovich, arranged for clarinet, violin and piano by Lev Atovmyan
  6. Trio for clarinet, violin and piano - Paul Schoenfield

This very exciting and enjoyable programme features some wonderful music from the late 19th and 20th centuries which draws on the European folk traditions. It also includes some fantastically virtuosic modern pieces, with a similar folk feel. The Poulenc 'Suite from L'invitation au chateau' is an unpublished and rarely performed piece which the Ensemble have made special arrangements to perform.

All three members have given individual recitals at Amersham recently (Alexandra Vaduva is giving the opening recital of the 2018-19 season as well as having performed in a duo two years ago) which have been very warmly received by audiences.
