  1. The Creation Hob XXI/2 - (Franz) Joseph Haydn

Two distinguished, long-established musical ensembles will come together to perform Haydn’s masterpiece Creation for a special Lord Mayor’s Concert in Exeter Cathedral.. Exeter Philharmonic Choir, the city’s oldest choral ensemble, will be joined by world-class musicians from the UK’s longest-established chamber orchestra, The London Mozart Players who are celebrating their 70thanniversary this year.

Haydn’s Creation is acknowledged as some of the most rewarding and powerful music in the Western canon. He composed it with a broad palette of instrumental colours, directing large orchestral forces in specific and subtle ways.

The audience in Devon will also be treated to performances from three top-class international soloists who sing with ensembles such as The Sixteen and Westminster Abbey Choir: Soprano Kirsty Hopkins, Tenor Mark Dobell, and Bass James Gower.
