Kenny Fu is currently studying piano with Tatiana Sarkissova at the Royal Academy of Music, where he has been awarded a full scholarship. He has previously studied at the Purcell School and the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music Junior Department. He has won many competitions throughout the UK and was the winner of the Solihull Young Musician of the Year 2012 and runnerup at the Cyprus International Piano Competition in 2013. Kenny was also a semi-finalist at the Pianale International Competition 2016, where he gave several concerts in Germany and was also invited to participate in the Hellensmusic Festival 2015, where he received a few days of intensive masterclasses, workshops and mentorship from Máté Szucs, Bruno Delepelaire, Maya Iwabuchi, Olga Sitkovetsky. More recently, Kenny was a semi-finalist at the 4th Sussex International Piano competition 2018 and at the 2nd Brescia International Competition 2018. He has had masterclasses with professors such as Dimitri Alexeev, Fali Pavri, Aaron Shorr, Steven Osborne, Bernard d’Ascoli, Christian Blackshaw, Jonathan Plowright, Petras Geniušas and Angela Hewitt.

His performances have led him to play at the Fazioli Concert Hall in Italy, The Wigmore Hall, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Royal Northern College of Music, Warwick Arts Centre and St Martin-in-the-Fields, and also gives charity concerts at several churches. In 2016 he played at the Leeds International Concert Series and The Kings Place in London .

Kenny is also a a frequent composer and improviser. He has roughly 700 recordings of his own improvisations which naturally progress into his compositional output. In 2013 Sound and Music premiered his work for an ensemble called Earth.

Kenny is thankful for the support of The Elton John Scholarship making his time at the Academy possible.
