Endellion String Quartet - 40th anniversary series

This concert starts with Beethoven’s masterly Op 18 No 1 whose heartfelt slow movement was inspired by Romeo and Juliet. The concert ends with Schubert's ‘Death and the Maiden’ whose intensity and lyricism have profoundly touched its listeners from the moment it was first performed. In between, in celebration of their 40th anniversary, the quartet present a series of several short pieces newly commissioned and generously supported by Lark Music, Turner Sims Southampton and Brompton's Auctioneers.

The other concerts in the Wigmore Hall 40th anniversary series are on Friday, 26 October 2018 and Sunday, 20 January 2019.
