Next it's the mountains of Armenia and Arutunian's viruosic showliece, his trumpet concerto. Then to the Steppes of Central Asia. Take a camel ride across the desert and let Borodin's enchanting folk tune beckon you to our next destination. It's Russian and Prokoviev's Lieutenant Kije Suite with its festive ' Troika'. Pizzicato strings and sleigh bells set the scene for this virtual sleigh ride through the snow. Last stop, sunny Italy and Tchaikovsky's Capriccio Italien. Its upbeat melodies and colourful instrumentation will chase away any winter blues.
