On Remembrance Sunday 2018, the Royal Choral Society and the London Philharmonic Orchestra mark the 100th anniversary of the Great War Armistice with a concert of music and poetry that signifies ‘Remembrance’ for this national day of commemoration.

The programme includes Ralph Vaughan Williams’s impassioned Dona nobis pacem, set to evocative texts by Walt Whitman, and Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations. Actor Paul McGann (Withnail and I, Doctor Who), who came to fame in the title role of First World War TV drama The Monocled Mutineer, will read a selection of poignant First World War poetry.

This performance will raise funds for Combat Stress, the charity helping former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health problems.
