We are delighted to welcome back Harvey Lin, former winner of the Reading Symphony Orchestra/Hickies Young Musicians’ Competition 2015 and keyboard category finalist of the BBC Young Musicians’ Competition 2016, for Mendelssohn’s sparkling Piano Concerto No 1. Harvey wowed us in our spring concert two years ago and he is sure to impress again with the stunning virtuosity and musicality of his playing. The second half of the concert will feature excerpts from Prokofiev’s ballet music for Romeo and Juliet. Written in 1935, hear both the joy and tragedy of this timeless tale. Fans of the BBC’s Apprentice will instantly recognise the Montagues and Capulets theme. The concert will begin with Dvorák's Carnival Overture – a joyous celebration of life! Join us in the beautiful surroundings of the University Great Hall for this special autumn concert.
