Elisabeth Turmo and Elena Toponogova are both passionate musicians with an interest in a wide variety of musical styles. Their current focus is on rarely performed music by Russian and Norwegian composers.

The Lucent duo was founded in 2016 at the Royal College of Music, London, where Elisabeth Turmo, violin, and Elena Toponogova, piano have studied with Norma Fisher, Detlef Hahn and John Blakely. They won second prize in the Grand Virtuoso International Competition in 2017 and as a result, performed in Wiener Saal in Salzburg.

The Duo has already appeared in many venues across London including St Martins in the fields, Shoerditch Treehouse, Charlton House, V&A Museum, Amaryllis Fleming Hall, Regent Hall as well as performing at Palazzo Giuliari, Italy.

Elena and Elisabeth have performed at Medtner International festival, London, and went on tour in Norway in 2017 where they were invited to perform at the Timani music festival, Oslo, as well as Stormen Concert House in Bodø. They will return for their second tour of Norway in spring 2019 and will appear at the 2019 Medtner International Festival in Berlin.
