Lewisham Choral Society presents a sparkling selection of music for the festive season. Our programme includes Gustav Holst’s Christmas Day, a choral fantasy on traditional carols, along with joyful music both new and old for choir and audience. Join us for mince pies and wine at St Mary the Virgin, Lewisham, and start your Christmas celebrations in style!

Lewisham Choral Society is one of London’s most popular and accomplished community choirs. We perform regularly in Lewisham, at major venues including the Southbank Centre and Cadogan Hall, and we have sung in Paris and Berlin. We also take part in community and charitable events, and as usual at Christmas, we will be singing carols under the Norwegian Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square.

Our director and conductor Dan Ludford-Thomas leads several choirs and coached the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS and Citibank choirs in the BBC Series ‘The Choir’. He has recently been appointed as Musical Director of the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain. Tonight’s pianist, Nico de Villiers, is a concert pianist, accompanist and vocal coach who performs widely across the UK and around the world. Our organist, Martyn Noble, is currently Musician-in-Residence at Highgate School and is also sub-organist at St. James’s Palace.
