  1. Dido and Aeneas Z 626 - Henry Purcell
  2. Songs and Sonnets - George Shearing, words by William Shakespeare
  3. Hymn to St Cecilia Op 27 - Benjamin Britten

Canterbury Cantata, the chamber choir of Canterbury Cantata Trust, directed by Emily Renshaw and supported by the Leon Quartet, perform Purcell's perennial favourite Dido and Aeneas.

This intimate performance of this three act short opera will be contrasted with Britten's unaccompanied Hymn to St Cecilia and the luscious harmonies of George Shearing's Songs and Sonnets, a jazzy interpretation of Shakespeare settings for choir, piano and double bass.
