Praise Him with Trumpets is a celebration of contemporary music for trumpets and choir, and is the opening concert of the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music 2019. It is inspired by Judith Weir's eponymous 2015 work for choir, organ, and two trumpets in C, which was commissioned to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Hampton Court Palace. The concert features two world premieres: Ewan Campell's Wandering Lighthouses is for two trumpets and organ and has been commissioned specially for this performance, as has Peter Foggitt's Fanfare for 2 piccolo trumpets in A.
The performance features trumpet soloists Simon Desbruslais and Ellie Lovegrove who will perform on trumpets in Bb, in C, and piccolo trumpets in A. They will be joined by the vocal enemble Il Suono (director Christian Goursaud) and conductor/organist Peter Foggitt.

The concert will be preceded at 7pm by a talk given by composers Judith Weir and Ewan Campbell, chaired by London Festival of Contemporary Church Music Artistic Director, Christopher Batchelor.

We acknowledge the support of the RVW Trust in respect of Ewan Campbell's Wandering Lighthouses.
