From cold winter days the welcoming gentle heat from spring emerges to thaw the frozen water, and all forms of nature begin to re-flourish from their hibernation. The transition from short cold dark hours to delicate colours and the fresh air of spring is seamless and forgotten. Phases pass through compulsory moments of transitions allowing dischord to offer meaning to harmony. Our Spring 2019 programme nods gently to the metamorphasis of genre and seasons through an interesting selection of 19th and 20th century music performed by a local orchestra under the guidance of Martin Smith. Join us on 16 March for an evening of Tchaikovsky, Smetana and Walton.
