  1. Quartet for oboe, violin, viola and cello in F K 370 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, arranged for flute and string trio by Franz Anton Hoffmeister
  2. Elégie, for horn and piano - Francis Poulenc
  3. Le merle noir, for flute and piano - Olivier Messiaen
  4. Quintet for piano and string quartet in F minor Op 34 - Johannes Brahms

The wind players’ chance to shine! This evening opens with Mozart’s enchanting writing for oboe quartet followed by Poulenc’s tribute to a brilliant horn player and Messiaen’s mesmerising representation of the song of the blackbird.

The first half ends with a new string quartet written especially for Ensemble 360 by Carmen Ho, winner of a Royal Philharmonic Society Composition Prize.

The second half is devoted to Brahms’s glorious Piano Quintet, regarded as one of the finest works of Romantic chamber music.
