  1. Piano Quintet in E flat (after the Quintet for piano and winds) K452 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
  2. En saga for septet Op 9 - Jean Sibelius
  3. Quintet for piano and strings in A, 'Die Forelle' (Trout) D 667 - Franz Schubert

The festival finale features three joyous pieces. Mozart’s Quintet is for the unusual combination of oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn with piano, and each of them is highlighted as they throw the themes to each other. En Saga brought fame to Sibelius in his native Finland and is imbued with hints of legend and myth. The fourth movement of Schubert’s Trout Quintet is based on one of his earlier songs, Die Forelle, but while the tale told in the original song has an unhappy ending for the poor trout, in this Quintet the mood is decidedly upbeat!
