A welcome return to the Old Chapel Court Concerts for Alison McGillivray, following her concert for us in 2017, to play Bach’s Cello Suites 2, 3 and 5 together with some more Scots tunes. Alison is a cellist and viola da gamba player who is regularly heard playing with Concerto Caledonia, The Society of Strange and Ancient Instruments, Rachel Podger’s Brecon Baroque and the Dunedin Consort. Her solo recordings include CPE Bach’s Cello Concerto with the Academy of Ancient Music and Geminiani Cello Sonatas with David McGuinness.
