Russian-Norwegian pianist Marina Kan Selvik studied at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Norwegian Academy of Music. She is currently a student Ian Fountain at the Royal Academy of Music. She has won several international competitions, such as the Jazeps Vitols competition in Riga, Latvia; the Nordic Piano Competition: Malmö, Sweden; and ”Marmortaste” at Klavierpodium in Munich.

She frequently gives concerts at festivals and concert halls in different countries. She is regularly invited to the International Grieg-Ciurlionis Festival in Lithuania to give recitals and as a soloist with the Lithuanian National Orchestra and Kaunas Symphony Orchestra.

She was selected among young Scandinavian musicians as soloist with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra (Prokofiev Concerto No 2, conductor Rory Macdonald) and the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra (Rachmaninov Concerto No 3, conductor Lars-Thomas Holm).

She gave master classes in Armenia and was at the same time invited to be soloist with the Armenian State Orchestra in Yerevan.

She performed Rachmaninov's Third piano concerto during the tour of the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra in Russia, Finland and Norway, under conductor Alexander Titov with great success.

Her recent concerts in the Edvard Grieg Museum 'Troldhaugen' became an incredibly memorable event garnering great acclaim and praise, where she also gave a special concert for Her Majesty Queen Sonja.

Most recently she has been a soloist with the Norwegian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Lijepaja Symphony Orchestra and Orquesta Sinfonica de la Region de Murcia.
