Nadine André’s musical journey began as a classical pianist at the age of 5, following a path of private tuition, taking music exams and winning awards in both local and national competitions, before completing a BMus (hons) and MMus from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2005 studying with Kathryn Stott and Carole Presland. Since graduating, Nadine’s career as a professional pianist has become increasingly versatile and has evolved to encompass a freer, more extensive approach to music making, leaving behind her ambition for measured achievement and competition-winning.

Throughout her life, Nadine’s versatility as a musician has enabled her to perform on international platforms in many different capacities. A personal invitation from Paolo Fazioli to demonstrate his pianos at the MusikMesse in Frankfurt, Germany, led to a solo recital at St. James’s, Piccadilly in 2010.

As winner of the National Piano Competition in north London at the age of 17, Nadine went on to receive 3rd prize in the International Anglo Czech-Slovak Competition in 2007 and has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician at the Royal Festival Hall, The Forge, Steinway Hall London, and Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. Nadine has recorded for Optimum Television Ltd and Temple Music Studios, and performed as an orchestral pianist with the London Chamber Orchestra, RNCM Symphony Orchestra and the Bushey Symphony Orchestra.

Nadine is a co-founding member of contemporary classical ensemble Trifarious who perform internationally, commissioning and recording new music. Trifarious has just completed it’s 2018-19 post as Ensemble in Residence at the University of Surrey, and continues to work annually with composition students at St. Catherine’s School, Bramley. The trio has also given workshops and concerts at the Royal Academy of Music and Royal Northern College of Music, and appeared at the 2015 ‘Aste Nagusia’ Festival in Bilbao.

As one half of duo ‘It Had To Be Two’ with husband Paul Cavaciuti, Nadine regularly plays and sings ragtime and music from the American songbook on piano and drums. The duo plays in regular concert series, care-homes and community centres across Surrey and the duo made their theatre début last Summer at the Epsom Playhouse with their new show “The Musician’s Guide To A Happy Marriage”. The duo has also performed for ‘Jazz at St. Giles’ in Oxford and will be repeating their show next month at the Ropetackle Arts Theatre in Southend on Sea.

Also a passionate teacher and chamber coach, Nadine has taught on international music courses in Spain and England, and currently teaches at the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music in London, where her student trio were winners of the Pro Corda National Chamber Music Festival. Nadine has also taught at St Catherine’s in Bramley since 2007 and will be starting at Surbiton High School in September.

As if this isn’t enough, Nadine places huge importance on the mechanics and function of the body, and is excited to be joining an apprenticeship programme to learn to instruct classical Romana Pilates at Kinetic Studios in London from September. This will lead to acquiring and developing the specialist knowledge needed to help musicians develop themselves to realise their full playing potential through having stronger bodies and greater physical self-awareness.
