Join Opera dei Lumi as they explore the young Mozart's early journey as dramatist and symphonist with music from 1767–74. Both the ebullient motet Exsultate, jubilate and the lyrical, intimate Symphony No. 29 in A are two of the most celebrated works from Mozart's teenage years. His stunning 'Passion cantata' Grabmusik – written just 11 years old and scarcely known – is a dialogue between a troubled Soul and a comforting Angel, showing the seeds of the master of drama Mozart would eventually become, with thrilling imagery of nature collapsing on itself. Papa Haydn's reflective symphony 'La passione' opens the evening's proceedings.
