The Brompton Quartet is comprised of musicians from the UK, Austria and Slovenia, studying at the Royal College and Royal Academy of Music in London. They were winners at the 2019 St Martin in the Fields Chamber Music Competition, and since forming last year, they have worked with artists including Daniel Rowland (Brodsky Quartet), Mats Zitterqvist (Chamber Orchestra of Europe), Heinz Holliger, Rafael Todes, Jon Thorne and the Harlem and Marmen Quartets.

All four members of the group are also active orchestral musicians and soloists, and have participated in festivals including the St. Endellion Festival, Prussia Cove, Padova and Stift International Music Festival. Prizes won by individual members of the group include 1st prize at the 13th Concorso Internazionale per Giovani Strumentisti, 3rd prize and the special Szymanowski award at the 1stInternational Karol Szymanowski Competition in Katowice, Poland, and 1st prize at the 1st International Tartini Competition, Cambridge University Instrumental Awards, and the Inaugural Peterhouse Camerata Musica chamber music prize.

The Brompton Quartet continue to explore a diverse range of repertoire and are looking forward to regular recitals in and around London and the UK, at venues including Conway Hall, Kings Place and the Red House, Aldeburgh. They were thrilled to have been awarded the 2019 Boconnoc award and residency this summer, where they gave two concerts at Boconnoc Estate in Cornwall. Later this year, they will be giving recitals in Italy, Slovenia and Austria.
