In 2009 she was a finalist the Flute Kitchen’s Young Artist competition and the winner of a Powell flute and a year later the Powell Headjoint.

Elizabeth then went on to continue her studies at Birmingham Conservatoire studying a BMus(Hons) degree with Jonathan Rimmer, Marie Christine Zupancic and Andrew Lane. During this time she was the principal flautist with the CBSO Youth Orchestra, Vacation Chamber Orchestra and Birmingham Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra and took part on the Welsh National Opera Scheme. She also had the opportunity to perform Mozart’s G major Concerto with the CBSO Youth Academy and play with Debussy’s Trio Sonata with Cathy White (harp) and Robin Ireland (viola). Elizabeth graduated with DipABRSM and LRSM diploma awards alongside her degree. Elizabeth’s professional career started at the age of 20 where she played with the Heart of England Chamber Orchestra in their Bach B Minor Mass.

Elizabeth later continued her studies at Trinity Laban College of Music and Drama studying with Anna Pope, Paul Edmund Davies and Robert Winn. Whilst at Trinity she was the winner of the Denne Gilkes Memorial Fund, the Colin Blythe Chamber Music Award and has also been principal flautist with the Trinity Symphony Orchestra. Elizabeth is part of the Ulmus Trio (flute, clarinet and bassoon) and Flo Duo (flute and violin). She performs with both ensembles throughout the UK in chamber music concerts, events and functions and is partnered with the Music in Hospitals. This year Elizabeth has played with the St Bennedicts Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchesta’s Open Sound Project.

Elizabeth is also a well renowned teacher having worked with the Lancashire and Birmingham Music Service, Birmingham Junior Conservatoire and Flutewise Charity. She was also the founder of the flute workshops ‘Little Flutes’.
