The Queensbury High School Madrigal Singers was formed in 1979 to provide music enrichment opportunities for young musicians in high school. The auditioned group of sophomores, juniors and seniors meets several mornings per week at 7am before school begins, and one evening each week. Many of these young singers participate in New York State School Music Association school festivals each year as well as sing with All-Country, Area All-State and All-State ensembles. Many are active in other musical functions within the community and several alumni have gone on to very successful music careers.

The Queensbury Madrigals place an emphasis on high caliber performances of quality cappella literature representative of different time periods and musical styles not exclusive to madrigals including: jazz, spirituals, folk songs, and contemporary music. Over the years, the Queensbury Madrigal Singers have been received in performance venues throughout Europe and in the United States. Most recently they have performed in Portugal and Spain.

Locally, the Madrigal Singers are in high demand, giving approx. thirty performances each year to various school and community organizations. Matthew Gaulin has taken over as musical director since the fall of 2016.
