Andrew Penny continues his Brahms’s Symphony cycle, spread over four seasons, with No 2, coupling it with the wonderful Cello Concerto by Dvorák. Our soloist is Laura van der Heijden, winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2012. The second Hull Philharmonic Orchestra commission from young local composers, spread over three seasons, is from Michael Phillips.
