The Whitehall Choir explores some of the wealth of wonderful choral music from the Baltic region - from well-known works such as Arvo Pärt’s Bogoroditse Devo and The Beatitudes to lesser-known works by the nineteenth century Lithuanian Juozas Naujalis, and Galina Grigorjeva, born in Ukraine but now based in Estonia. The music and texts range from the beautiful still, calm and icy, such as Eriks Ešenvalds’s Northern Lights, to the fiery St John’s Day Songs for Midsummer’s Eve by Veljo Tormis.
