Please join us for our favourite yearly concert, which features audience carols, festive refreshments and joyous music. There will be pieces for counter-tenor solo and choir by Handel, Gibbons and Cornelius; and Buxtehude’s Das Neugeborne Kindelein.
City Chorus concerts are famously convivial – full of family, friends and supporters of the choir. At the interval and after there will be festive refreshments and even superb home baking! The evening will be great fun and we hope you will come and enjoy it with us.
Next year, 2020, is the choir's 100th anniversary and we have many special events planned, including our Centenary Concert at Southwark Cathedral on Friday 3 April (Mozart Coronation Mass and Handel Zadok the Priest).
What better time to join us! We are a friendly, non-auditioning choir that performs a wide range of music, from sixteenth-century motets to modern choral compositions and arrangements. Membership is open to all, at the discretion of our musical director. Some choral singing experience and music reading ability is advantageous, but not essential. All works are thoroughly rehearsed and sound files are available to help you learn the music.
Our musical director Paul Ayres conducts and accompanies several choral groups in London and works extensively as a composer and arranger.
Contact Dionne at membership@londoncitychorus.com to find out more. We have a modest annual membership cost and special rates for under 30s. We want you to join!
