Welcome to the second concert in the 2019/20 season given by Sinfonia of Leeds, the city's leading non-professional orchestra. We continue our happy association with St Edmund's Church in Roundhay, making music in the most beautiful of surroundings.

Celebrating the 250th anniversary year of Beethoven's birth, the concert pairs his ebullient 8th Symphony with Shostakovich's powerful musical portrait of Stalin's tyrannical regime, written just months after the Russian dictator's death.
