This evening’s concert features two stunning works in the Piano Quartet repertoire: One of Beethoven's earliest works in this genre sparkles with brilliance and youthful virtuosity which is set alongside Brahms’s masterpiece, the great Piano Quartet No 1 in G minor, a tour-de-force for the pianist and some of his finest writing for strings.

The Piccadilly Chamber Music Series is now in its third season and aims to share chamber music with a wider audience, featuring some of London’s very best chamber groups and players. All concerts are hosted by St James’s Church Piccadilly, a spectacular building situated on Piccadilly, designed by the great Sir Christopher Wren. This majestic London landmark, complete with its own outdoor marketplace, boasts a beautiful acoustic and plays host to one of the capital’s most stunning concert Fazioli pianos. Its location offers an enviable choice of bars, restaurants and hotels enabling you to plan the perfect musical experience to share with your loved ones and friends.

Pianist Annabel Thwaite is renowned for her artistry and collaborates with many of the worlds’ finest musician, including baritone Sir Bryn Terfel. Cellist Tim Lowe is one of the UK’s most versatile and brilliant cellists of his generation, currently in great demand as soloist, chamber musician and teacher. Violinist Martyn Jackson’s breath-taking playing has wowed critics and audiences around the world. The recordings of violist Matthew Jones have been universally praised, and he is also the head of Chamber Music at London’s Guildhall School of Music.
