  1. Trio No 4 in B flat for clarinet, cello and piano, 'Gassenhauer' Op 11 - Ludwig van Beethoven
  2. Der Hirt auf dem Felsen (Shepherd on the rock), for soprano, clarinet and piano D 965 - Franz Schubert
  3. Trio for clarinet, cello and piano in A minor Op 114 - Johannes Brahms

This evening’s concert features two stunning works in the clarinet trio repertoire. The brilliance of Beethoven’s piano writing shines through against the beautiful lyricism of the clarinet and cello. By contrast, Brahms, heavily influenced himself by Beethoven, pushes the three instruments to heightened levels of technical challenges and romantic expression. The programme is complemented by the ever-popular Shepherd on the Rock by Schubert for soprano, clarinet and piano.

The Piccadilly Chamber Music Series is now in its third season and aims to share chamber music with a wider audience, featuring some of London’s very best chamber groups and players. The stunning soprano, Susan Parkes has performed as soloist at the Royal Albert Hall and in many operas across the UK and abroad. Artistic Director of The Piccadilly Chamber Music Series, Warren Mailley-Smith has performed many times for the british royal Family.
