In the first Conway Hall Sunday Concerts live, online event, in place of the usual talks and performances postponed because of our venue’s temporary closure, we present an evening with Robert Hugill and Maria Canyigueral, hosted by our Director of Music Simon Callaghan.

18.30 Introductory talk by Robert Hugill: In Search of Bach

Bach’s cello suites are tantalising works. We have little in the way of secure background and no autograph. We know neither when, nor for whom they were written. There is even dispute about the exact instrument for which they were written.
