The Gesualdo Six and London Mozart Players perform a sublime concert for all affected by covid-19; David Hill’s 2011 setting of Fauré’s Requiem with new poems by Grahame Davies reflecting the impact of the pandemic.
Hill’s edition of Fauré's Requiem presents this moving masterpiece in an intimate chamber edition, arranged for Violin, Cello, Harp and Organ. This score maintains the original chamber-music qualities of Fauré's scoring, conveying the rich colours and textures of Fauré's most famous work.
As a highlight of this year’s JAM on the Marsh: Virtual, this concert is for all affected by covid-19, performed by Gesualdo Six, London Mozart Players and Simon Hogan (organ), conducted by Owain Park. The new poems by Grahame Davies, commissioned for this event by JAM, capture the impact of the pandemic.
This concert goes live, for free, at 7.30pm on Friday 14th August until 13th September.
