Experience spine-tingling tunes, hidden gems, contributions from our younger singers, and some fun in this 30-minute audiovisual extravaganza. We celebrate the inspiring choral music we have researched, commissioned or just love singing, and hint at some of the exciting plans we have in mind for the next 50 years.
The majority of the music - by Bach, Donati, Mozart, Alec Roth and Judith Weir - has been newly recorded especially for this film, whilst we dip into our archive for two pieces.
The concert concludes with a sensational re-imagining of William Blake's text by Liz Dilnot Johnson, which you'll hear between the two verses of Parry's Jerusalem. It was written for this concert - you won't want to miss it!
Making this film costs around the same as giving a live concert and this period is financially very challenging for Ex Cathedra, so we'd be extremely grateful if you can make a donation in lieu of a ticket. Thank you.
You can download the programme booklet here. You can also follow the texts and translations on screen if you switch on the captions.
Thank you - We would also like to express our thanks to all our funders and donors, including: Arts Council England, Birmingham City Council, The Reynolds Foundation and all the members of our Host of Angels.
