A New Day takes a refreshing and optimistic look at the passing of time, focussing on the opportunities that emerge with each new dawn. From Greek mythology heralding the arrival of springtime, to tales of youthful adventure and night-time rebellion, this programme celebrates some of the extraordinary heights to which humanity has soared. With music from Renaissance Italy and England, through 19th century France and reaching the present day, including works by Striggio, Saint-Saëns, Harold Arlen and Jacob Collier, A New Day shows the full spectrum of The King’s Singers' repertoire, including classic arrangements of The Beatles and The Beach Boys. The concert also offers viewers the rare opportunity to hear The King’s Singers and VOCES8 performing together in works including Bob Chilcott’s High Flight, written for The King’s Singers’ 40th anniversary. This collaboration looks forward with positivity to a new day dawning on the world.
