The world's most recorded chamber orchestra returns to LIVE From London in a programme offering hope and inspiration, chosen and directed by James Sherlock, and with VOCES8 performing a number of choral works. Framed by the soft strains of Beethoven’s Elegischer Gesang and his triumphant outpouring of renewal in the Choral Fantasy is the sunshine of Mozart’s Piano Concerto no. 12 in A major, played by James Sherlock on his own Blüthner piano, which resides at the VOCES8 Centre. Music by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Frank Bridge gives way to the soulful tranquility of Brahms’ Geistliches Lied and Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus. Revive your spirit and join the ECO in this concert, showing that 'The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it' (John 1:5).
